Applicant has a garage that was built without a residence on the property. The garage needs a variance approval before a Land use Permit can be issued to build the residence. Applicant would like to build a residence this summer.
ZBA Findings of Fact: It was determined that the garage was built without a permit. There is a well and septic on the property and a trailer is being used as a residence. The motion was made to issue a Land Use Permit for the existing garage. If the county does not approve the garage it must be removed. If that permit is approved by the county a second Land Use Permit must be applied for within 90 days for the residence. The residence must be finished in 2 years or the garage must be removed.
Decision: The variance was unanimously approved.
Lake Township Ordinance: Article 13.2-C(3) Each variance granted shall become null and void unless the provisions of the variance have been utilized within one year after the granting of the variance.
